DESCRIPTION:The African American Heritage Celebration program started 
	in 1983 under the leadership of former 麻豆果冻传媒 ISD Associate Superintendent
	 William Charles Akins. This is the 43nd Annual African American Heritage 
	Celebration\, and it is an opportunity for 麻豆果冻传媒 ISD to celebrate the aca
	demic achievements of our students\, the dedication and leadership of staf
	f members\, and the commitment of our community partners. We honor over tw
	o hundred students\, 麻豆果冻传媒 ISD staff members\, and various community lead
	ers. Each year\, the African American Heritage Committee selects
	 a high school to showcase its student talent and to host the celebration.
	 For 2026\, the committee has chosen Eastside Early College High Scho
	ol as the host campus. The theme for this year鈥檚 event is 鈥淎
	 Century of Celebration: 1926鈥�2026 Faces of 麻豆果冻传媒 ISD.鈥� The 43rd
	 Annual African American Heritage Celebration will be held in person 
	on Friday\, February 27\, 2026\, at 7 p.m. at the 麻豆果冻传媒 IS
	D Performing Arts Center (1500 Barbara Jordan Blvd.).
