More campuses earning As and Bs as systemic reforms take root.

New state accountability ratings show clear momentum in �鶹������ý ISD student outcomes: The district has earned its first B rating in four years, the number of campuses with an A or B rating is on the rise, and the number of campuses with a D or F rating continues to decline.

The new ratings from the Texas Education Agency, based on student performance during the 2025-26 school year, prove that students and teachers continue to respond to investments and interventions prioritized by �鶹������ý ISD and the community over the past two years.

Since 2024:

• The number of campuses receiving an A or B increased 42%, from 43 in 2024 to 61 in 2026.
• The number of campuses receiving a D or F decreased 35%, from 48 in 2024 to 31 in 2026.

“We believe every child — no matter their ZIP code — deserves a great education,” said �鶹������ý ISD Superintendent Matias Segura. “The latest ratings from the state reflect the hard work of our students, the support of their families, and the dedication of teachers, principals and other educators throughout �鶹������ý ISD.”

Systemic reforms led by Segura and the Board of Trustees have focused resources and attention toward Title I schools, which serve the greatest numbers of students classified as Economically Disadvantaged. Outcomes at those Title I schools have driven the district’s broader improvement in state ratings over the past two years:

• The number of Title I campuses earning an A or B doubled, from 8 in 2024 to 16 in 2026.
• The number of Title I campuses earning a D or F decreased 36%, from 47 in 2024 to 30 in 2026.

“With the support of our community, we have made targeted investments in teacher pay, mental health support for students, and ensuring educators have access to high-quality instructional materials and robust professional learning,” Superintendent Segura said. “The greatest investments have been made at campuses where the need is greatest. Because of this systemic focus, our students across the district are gaining deeper mastery of core subjects and expanding their access to advanced academic pathways.”

Some campuses continue to show unacceptable outcomes. Burnet and Webb middle schools received an F rating for the fifth straight year, which could prompt some form of future intervention by the state.

Heading into the new school year, �鶹������ý ISD is taking steps to accelerate improvement at schools that continue to struggle. The district has changed campus leadership at Burnet and Webb and made scheduling changes that will result in daily instruction in math and language arts. In addition, six of the �鶹������ý ISD campuses that received a D or F rating have been consolidated.

“Our job is not done,” Superintendent Segura said. “We will continue to face our challenges head-on, building on what has worked and refining what hasn’t. If we stay focused, we believe that we will have zero F-rated campuses by this time next year.”

Below are the total number of �鶹������ý ISD campuses receiving each rating based on all schools that completed the 2025-26 school year*: 

• A: 28
• B: 33
• C: 22
• D: 11
• F: 20

�鶹������ý ISD trustees will discuss the ratings during tonight’s meeting. The Texas Education Agency will formally release ratings for schools and districts across Texas on Friday.

*Due to school consolidations approved in 2025, �鶹������ý ISD will open with 57 A- or B-rated campuses and 25 D- or F-rated campuses for the 2026-27 school year. Please review the attached  for additional information.
