The summer of 2026 marks the 11th anniversary of the Â鶹¹û¶³´«Ã½ ISD Summer Theatre Series (STS), one of the largest and most comprehensive student theatre programs in Central Texas. Held annually at the Â鶹¹û¶³´«Ã½ ISD Performing Arts Center, the program provides Â鶹¹û¶³´«Ã½ ISD students with a completely free, professional-quality theatre experience that develops skills in performance, technical theatre, collaboration, and leadership.
Since its inception, the Summer Theatre Series has grown to include the Rising Stars Camp, a one-week introductory program designed for students in grades 6–12 who are new to acting, singing, dancing, and theatre. This summer, 317 students from 42 Â鶹¹û¶³´«Ã½ ISD campuses are participating in the Summer Theatre Series at no cost to their families, ensuring that every student has access to high-quality arts education regardless of financial circumstances.
The Summer Theatre Series concludes with two fully staged productions that showcase the incredible talent and dedication of Â鶹¹û¶³´«Ã½ ISD students. Students are involved in every aspect of the productions, including acting, singing, dancing, stage management, lighting, sound, costumes, scenery, props, and other technical theatre roles, providing them with real-world production experience.
